SteamboatStorm
The Steamboat Storm collegiate summer baseball team lost Wednesday in the second round of the Mountain West Collegiate Baseball League playoffs, falling 4-3 against the Glenwood Geckos, the top-seeded team in the tournament.
Steamboat, the league’s No. 2 team, got a strong pitching performance from Cody Kearns and home runs from Casey Echols and Allen Mayes.
The team will get another shot at winning the double-elimination tournament. It next plays Friday on the road against either the Grand Junction Rocky Mountain Oysters, or the Summit Black Diamonds.
