Stolen vehicle debacle: The Record for Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017

2:17 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a suspicious person in the 3100 block of Columbine Drive. There had been a fight, and the people involved ran off.

2:55 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a drunken man slumped over in the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue. Police helped him get a ride home.



7:59 a.m. Officers were called to a report of criminal mischief in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue. Someone’s car had been keyed.

11:47 a.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to help a person with trauma in the 1800 block of Lagoon Court.



2:50 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 1400 block of South Lincoln Avenue. A man went into the grocery store and discovered his car was missing when he came out. When police arrived, the car returned. It was being driven by an 81-year-old man who mistakenly took the car. The man was confused, and police located his wife.

10:10 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to a report of a vehicle fire near mile marker 139 on U.S. Highway 40.
