"The shovel race is fun! But I always cringe when I watch it, because it's like, 'Who's going to lose teeth?'"
— Leah Ramberg
"The snow shovel races and pulling the kids behind the horses — that's the absolute best. Both events are so unique. And it's also nice to brave the cold together as a community."
— Lorelei Ernst

"I love the fact that they're bringing back the snow sculptures and it's not just a high school event — that now, it's open to the community. I think that's fantastic."

"Snow sculptures. It's not as cool if you didn't make them."
— Ben Massey
"The huge fireworks — they literally shake the windows all the way to Oak Creek."

"(I'm coming into town specifically for the Winter Carnival this year.) I don't think there are any other places that can capture such a moment of the lights coming down the ski slope and knowing they're all kids and having all the people there — it's really quite a deal. And I definitely want to see the parade this year, where they put all the snow out in the street and they have people riding on shovels."
— Dinger Ernstes
"I love the street events. I love when the horses pull the skiers — it just seems like it pulls together our whole community. It's like the old West and the new West coming together."

"I love that it's one of the oldest and earliest Winter Carnival parades, and that it's in our own little town."
