Steamboat Triathlon discounted price sign-up deadline nearing

— Steamboat Triathlon director Joy Rasmussen said the window is closing for a special discounted price for the event this month.

The triathlon, set for its sixth go-round in Steamboat Springs, is nearly two-thirds full, she said. Registration fees have crept up as the event has drawn closer, but a $20 off coupon available at or at drops the current price to $105.

It expires Tuesday.

“We’ve been getting a lot of registrations in the last two weeks,” said Rasmussen, preparing for her second year organizing the event. “We have over 400 signed up, and we’re expecting to get to over 500.”

The triathlon is Aug. 29 and centers on Lake Catamount, near Steamboat Springs.
