The Steamboat Springs Tennis and Pickleball Complex has officially launched its fundraising campaign, Courting Love, in an effort to refresh the Tennis Center.

Through the end of the year, campaign donors will get donations matched — by anonymous donors — for every dollar contributed.

The cost of the refresh is estimated between $2 million and $3 million as repairs are needed for replacing the exterior tennis membrane which was installed in 2005, replacing the HVAC system, fixing failed insulation and lighting, resurfacing the indoor tennis courts, and refreshing the welcome center with an upgraded front desk area, pro shop, locker rooms and mezzanine.

“The Steamboat Springs Tennis and Pickleball Complex is a nonprofit organization and true public treasure for the Steamboat Springs community,” said Meg Tully, executive director for Steamboat Tennis & Pickleball Complex, in a news release. “We will forever be indebted to our valued donors, sponsors and all those who contribute to restore our beloved Tennis Center to its original glory, so this facility can serve generations of youth to senior athletes for years to come.”

The tennis center refurbishment comes after the unveiling of the complex’s new 35,000 square-foot Pickleball Center which is still servicing a $5 million loan.
