Steamboat Springs wrestling competes at dual tournament

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS  — The Steamboat Springs High School wrestling team competed in the Rifle Dual Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 19.

As a team, the Sailors defeated Grand Valley, Battle Mountain and Rangely and lost to Rifle and Grand Junction.

Spencer Mader, 126, went 5-0 on the day, pinning all five of his opponents. John Slowey, 195, also went undefeated. Adalia George, 132, and Cole Moon, 220, both went 3-2 in their matches, and Caleb Anderson, 145, and Ivan Reynolds, 160, went 2-3.

The Sailors host a triangular match against Rifle and Palisade on Friday, Jan. 25, then travel to the Paonia Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 26.
