Steamboat Springs Swim Team garners top results

— The Steamboat Springs Swim Team competed in its first long-course meet of the summer in Thornton.

The team came away with some top results, including multiple swimmers making Western Zone Regional Championship times or Colorado State Championship cuts.

Swimming in a 50-meter pool, Samantha Terranova made Western Zone times in the 50 freestyle, 100 free, 200 free and 1,500 free. 
Parker Kortas made it in the 200 breast.



Frank Ruppel made Colorado State Championship cuts in the 50 free, 100 back, 200 back, 100 fly and 200 fly.

Avery Harrington made the state times in the 50 free, 100 free, 100 back, 50 breast, 100 breast, 200 breast, 50 fly and 100 fly. Parker Kortas made it in the 50 breast, 100 breast and 50 fly.



Jenna Smith made state championship cuts in the 500 free and 50 breast.

Other swimmers recording season bests included Piper Rillos, Taylor Kortas, Margaret Lichtenfels, Maddie Ruppel, Marley Loomis, Lucy Wilson, Mickinley McAtee, Maggie Morton, Reilly Mewborn, Lauren Owens, Isabella O’Reilly, Rylee McLouth, Kendall Harrington, Emily Craig, Anna Terranova, Cameron Owens, Sophia Grewal, Daisy Wilson, Brenden Carta, Jonathon Kaminski and Jack Strotback.
