• After the Holy Name Catholic Church pews fill up, parishioners head to the large basement, where mass is broadcast on a TV. But that will change in a couple of years, when the expanded church will be able to accommodate everyone. Holy Name Catholic Church leaders excited by progress of church expansion



• Routt County Search and Rescue volunteers were able to contact the snowmobilers Sunday night and determine they are stuck in a ravine in the north fork of the Fish Creek drainage. Search to resume Monday morning for 5 snowmobilers stranded on Buffalo Pass

• On Dec. 20, the South Routt School Board celebrated being named the top board in the state by the Colorado Association of School Boards and was awarded $2,500, which it donated to the district’s endowment fund. South Routt School Board uses award money to grow educational endowment



• Registration opens at midnight Jan. 1 for the 2013 Steamboat Springs Running Series, which will undergo several scheduling changes in the new year. Running Series registration, including Steamboat Marathon and Run Rabbit Run, opens Jan. 1
