Steamboat Springs girls basketball team drops game to Roosevelt

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The Steamboat Springs girls basketball fell to Roosevelt in the opening game of the Roughrider Shootout 57-17.

Junior Jaycee May had six points while senior Lucy Shimek and sophomore Rose Epstein had four.

The Sailors played an aggressive game, including 14 fouls to the Roughriders’ five in the first half. The Roughriders capitalized on 10 of its 22 free throw attempts in the game. Roughriders sophomore Skylar Keller led the team with 11 points.
