Steamboat Springs City Council to set goals on Friday

The new Steamboat Springs City Council will begin hashing out its goals and priorities during a facilitated retreat at Citizens Hall today.

The council will discuss its role, receive a briefing about the legal dos and don’ts of being a council member, outline meeting protocols and discuss how it can be an effective council in the future.

The council, which seated four new members in November, will spend the remainder of the retreat coming up with a list of goals.

Today’s retreat begins at 8 a.m. and is open to the public.

Public comment will be accepted before a lunch break.

The council will then go on a tour of the public works department.
