Steamboat Springs snowboarders competed at a United States of America Snowboard Association event Saturday and Sunday at Copper Mountain in snowboard and half-pipe competitions.

On the slopestyle side, the team had nearly a dozen competitors, and they fared well.

Grace Drobek was among the best, placing fourth in the breaker girls competition.

Johnny Duty was 13th and Jacy Werner 16th in the breaker boys slope competition. A day later in the pipe, Duty was ninth and Werner 10th.

Braden Duty was fifth in slope in grommet boys and fifth again a day later in pipe. Marty Boyd was second, and Jake Larsen 16th in menehune boys. A day later, Larsen was ninth and Boyd 11th in the half-pipe.

Spencer Vaughan was seventh and Marcus Saputo 15th in the men’s open class slope contest while Cody Winters was eighth and Ryan Merritt 16th in the youth men’s division.

Virginia Boyd won the girls ruggie division in Sunday’s pipe competition and was second in Saturday’s slopestyle. Rebecca Dillion, meanwhile, was second in the menehune girls in slopestyle.
