Steamboat snow totals rebound in February

Matt Stensland

— Snowfall at the Steamboat Ski Area rebounded in February with 57.75 inches of snow recorded during the month at mid-mountain.

That’s about 10 inches short of the all-time February average at the ski area of 67.04 inches, but it was a significant improvement over snowfall in January.

The ski area is coming off its driest January on record when only 11.25 inches of snow fell.

The ski area had its best powder day Feb. 21, when 11 inches was measured at 5 a.m. at mid-mountain. Eight inches was measured the following morning.

The ski area saw snow showers periodically throughout the last week in February.
