Steamboat seniors selected as Optimist Teens of the Month

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Steamboat Springs High School seniors Tallak Myhre and Isabel Rillos were named as Teens of the Month for April by the Optimist Club of Steamboat Springs.

Rillos, who maintains a perfect 4.0 gpa, is a member of the Sailors girls soccer team and also has played volleyball and basketball for the high school. She is active in National Honor Society and Student Council and is a member of the Interact Club. She also was previously involved in FBLA and speech and debate.

Rillos participated in a summer exchange program through the Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs and plans to study business in college with a minor in Spanish.

Myhre has a 3.938 gpa and serves as treasurer of the National Honor Society. He is a member of the Elk River Wranglers 4-H Club and also active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Model UN, the high school fly-fishing club and the Methodist Youth Group. Myhre also is a member of the Sailors lacrosse and tennis team and Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club.

When Myhre graduates from Steamboat this spring, he’ll also be receiving an associate of arts degree from Colorado Mountain College. He plans to major in business in college and then attend dental school, where he hopes to pursue a dental specialty in orthodontics.
