Steamboat police investigating theft from The Bakery

Matt Stensland

— The Steamboat Springs Police Department is investigating who stole money from a downtown bakery.

The money was reported missing from The Bakery, 1117 Lincoln Ave., on Tuesday morning. Steamboat Springs Police Department Detective Dave Kleiber said someone with access to the building entered overnight and took a bank deposit bag with money. There was no forced entry, Kleiber said.

Kleiber did not want to disclose how much money was taken because the incident is under investigation. Kleiber said he has interviewed a couple of people about the incident, and he plans to talk to more.
