Steamboat Pilot & Today’s Meg Boyer named advertising director

Boyer has been with the newspaper since 2003 and has worked as a copy editor, news editor, creative services manager and most recently as print advertising manager. Boyer replaces Scott Stanford, who recently was named general manager of the Pilot & Today.

In her new role, Boyer will oversee newspaper, magazine and Internet advertising, as well as commercial printing for the company.



“Meg has been a remarkably successful leader in every role she has taken on at the newspaper,” Stanford said. “I have no doubt that she will be successful leading our advertising efforts.”

Boyer is married to Pilot & Today Editor Brent Boyer. She is an active mentor with Partners in Routt County, a volunteer with Advocates Building Peaceful Communities and co-chairwoman of the 2011 Routt County United Way campaign. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a degree in journalism.

Also, Stanford announced that Suzanne Becker has been named the newspaper’s creative services manager. Becker, who has worked at the newspaper as a graphic artist since June 2008, started in her new role Sept. 20. Becker manages the advertising design department at the Pilot & Today.

Becker is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in business administration with a specialization in marketing. She also has a certificate of graphic design from the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. Becker has two children, Daniel, 19, and Cara, 16.
