Steamboat Nordic teams place 2nd

— The Steamboat Springs High School boys and girls Nordic teams each finished second on Thursday at a 5-kilometer classic race at Devil’s Thumb Ranch.

The girls finished with 164 points, behind winning Middle Park. The boys were second behind Summit.

Linnea Dixson led the girls with a third-place finish. Dominique Powers was sixth, Martha Anderson was 11th, Mallory Hoots was 13th and Sarah White was 14th.

On the boys side, Jack Burger was the top Steamboat finisher in sixth. Wilber Ranieri was eighth, Dane Dixson was 14th and Peter White was 18th.

This was the last regular season league ski race, with the state championships scheduled for Thursday and Friday in Aspen.

All 13 Steamboat Nordic skiers have qualified for state championships.
