Steamboat junior skiers show well at Beaver Creek race

— Some of Steamboat’s smallest competitive skiers picked up big results last weekend in their only out-of-town competition, the Buddy Werner League West Council Championships at Beaver Creek.

Steamboat picked up two wins each from Cooper Puckett, in J6 boys, and Jon Heaberlin, in J3 boys. Lilly Patterson, in J5 girls, also won a race.

In J6 girls Madison Knutson was seventh twice, and Bianca Perez was ninth and 11th. Patterson also had an eighth-place finish in the J5 girls. Riley Hodges was ninth twice in that division, Alex Blair was 11th and 15th, Sequoia Anstine was 12th and 13th, and Isabella Boniface was 10th and 14th.



Bode Flanigan was second twice in the J6 boys races. Ollie Rotermund was eighth and 10th in those races, Anthony Mathey was 12th and 14th, Noel Airoldi was 13th twice, and Max Rotermund was 12th.

Jack Boyle was fifth twice among the J5 boys. Brook Birkinbine was 10th twice, and Charlie Paxson was 13th and 14th.



Jake Crouch was fifth twice in J3 boys, Grant Birkinbine was seventh twice, and Michael Boyle was 11th twice.
