Steamboat hockey wins again

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The Steamboat Springs High School hockey team tallied another win Saturday, blasting Chatfield 4-1 playing at Howelsen Ice Arena in Steamboat Springs.

The Sailors got another big game from David LaPointe, who scored three times. Combined with his performance Friday, he already has five goals in 2018 and the team has played just twice.

He opened the game’s scoring in the second period, putting away his first two goals. Sean Sullivan scored in the third, then LaPointe put another one away short handed.

Chatfield responded with a goal in the closing minutes from Tyler Wathen.

Steamboat’s now 7-1 on the season. The team is poised for more home games next weekend, at 7:30 p.m. Friday against Air Academy and at 5:30 p.m. Saturday against Liberty.
