Steamboat girls soccer remains undefeated at home

The Steamboat Springs girls soccer team continued its undefeated streak at home this season with a 10-0 win over Rifle on Thursday night.
The victory is the team’s second 10-0 mercy rule win of the season, having done so to Moffat County earlier this month.
The girls are sitting on a 6-5-1 record. The squad is 4-1-1 in league play and are 3-1-1 in their last five games payed. The lone tie comes in a 1-1 game against Roaring Fork April 9. The game was played at Gardner Field in Steamboat, but the tie still did not threaten the team’s home undefeated streak.
Despite having a record only slightly above .500, Steamboat’s goal differential is +15. The team has scored 35 goals and has let up 20 goals.
The Sailors are ranked 2nd within the 3A/2A Western Slope league and are currently No. 16 on the Colorado High School Activities Association Selection and Seeding Index.
Following a week-long spring break, the girls will be back in action at Gardner Field on April 29 with a game against Basalt.
