Steamboat girls slip to 0-2

The Steamboat Springs High School girls basketball team lost its second game of the season Saturday, falling 65-27 to Durango at the Brenda Patch Tournament in Roaring Fork.

Steamboat got down early and couldn’t catch up, trailing 19-9 after the first quarter. The squad struggled to score as the game wore on, making two points in the second quarter.

The Sailors, 0-2, next play at 8:15 p.m. at home Thursday in the annual Steamboat Shootout tournament. They’ll play Discovery Canyon in the first round.
