Steamboat girls sink in second half
Steamboat Springs — A slow second half offensively sank the Steamboat Springs High School girls basketball team Friday in a season-opening trip to play against Roaring Fork, which was hosting the Brenda Patch Tournament.
The Sailors led at half but went on to lose, 40-29.
Steamboat was up 16-15 at half and trailed 27-25 after the third quarter. Roaring Fork scored 13 in the fourth, however, and Steamboat couldn’t answer, falling to 0-1 on the season.
Steamboat plays again Saturday in the tournament.
