— Members of Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue worked to remove a person from a Ford Explorer at Anglers Drive and U.S. Highway 40 on Thursday evening after a two-car crash.

Steamboat Springs Police Department Sgt. John McCartin said the Explorer was traveling toward downtown and failed to yield when turning left onto Anglers Drive. The Explorer was T-boned by a minivan, and the Explorer rolled. The crash occurred at about 5 p.m.

The driver of the Explorer, a 35-year-old Steamboat woman, was complaining of chest pain and was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center. The only passenger in the Explorer, the woman’s juvenile son, and a person in the minivan were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

McCartin said the woman driving the Explorer was at fault, and she would be given a ticket. McCartin said police think drug impairment was a contributing factor. Eastbound traffic was rerouted onto Anglers Drive for about an hour while the accident was cleaned up.
