Steamboat City Council to interview golf committee candidates Tuesday night

— The Steamboat Springs City Council on Tuesday night will interview several candidates who are vying to serve on the committee that helps to oversee the management of the Haymaker Golf Course.

Nine candidates have applied for two vacancies on the management committee.

The council also will consider a supplemental budget request from the city that includes a variety of items that either required spending from the city’s reserves or were paid for with additional revenue like grant funding that wasn’t originally in the budget.

Examples of new expenditures include a roof replacement for the Iron Horse Inn and the cost of a recent parking study.

Examples of additional revenues in the budget include grants that will support more Community Youth Corps crew members and more police officer shifts to focus on spotting impaired drivers.

Tuesday’s meeting starts at 5 p.m. in Citizens Hall at 124 10th St.
