Steamboat chef qualifies for Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions after winning streak

— Steamboat Springs chef Greg Seroka has some early ideas for how he could spend the $180,401 he recently won on “Jeopardy!”

“I’m going to do some traveling, and I have a brand new niece and nephew who might want some college money, so we’ll think about that,” Seroka said in a recent interview posted on the game show’s Facebook page.

Seroka, the executive chef at La Montana, won seven Jeopardy! games in a row before he was defeated in Monday night’s episode.

Seroka’s impressive performance qualifies him for the game show’s Tournament of Champions.

“This is definitely among the coolest things I’ve ever done, so I’m really happy to get another chance to do it,” Seroka said.

Seroka said that he has watched the show since he was a child, and has always loved it.

The chef’s run converted many Steamboat residents into Jeopardy! watchers.

He was defeated by Scott Ylinen, a draftsman and college student from Morgantown, West Virginia.
