Steamboat cheerleading performance a fundraiser for uniforms

— A fundraising cheerleading performance by the young athletes in Rocky Mountain Cheer is at 11 a.m. today inside the old gymnasium at Steamboat Springs High School.

The fundraiser will feature two performances, one by the mini program featuring athletes ages 5 to 8 and another by the junior program featuring athletes ages 8 to 12.

Rocky Mountain Cheer Director Summer McParland said the money raised from the $2 admission fee will be used to purchase uniforms for next season. The program has about 27 athletes enrolled, and it plans to attend several competitions next season.

Doors open at 10:30 a.m. today. In addition to the $2 tickets, donations will be accepted.
