YPN schedules monthly happy hour for Wednesday
Steamboat Springs Young Professionals Network will hold its happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 25, at BARley, 635 Lincoln Ave. The monthly gathering provides an opportunity for networking and a chance to learn about upcoming YPN events and provide feedback to improve YPN. The event is free, and happy hour specials will be provided courtesy of BARley.
Thanksgiving Community Dinner in need of food
The annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner in Steamboat Springs is in urgent need of food. There is a need for cooked turkeys, stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet and mashed potatoes, gravy, Jello salad and cranberry sauce Items can be delivered between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov.26 at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. Arts, Culture Coalition grant program applications out
Applications for the Steamboat Springs Arts and Culture Coalition 2016 Common Grant grant program are now available. Any 501(c)(3) organization that provides arts and cultural services to benefit Routt County residents is eligible to apply for funding. Yampa Valley Gives to launch photography contest
In anticipation of Colorado Gives Day on Dec 8, Yampa Valley Gives is celebrating the many ways people give to the Yampa Valley throughout the year. The group is asking people to share photos and explain how they give back for a chance to win $500 for a favorite nonprofit that is participating in this year’s Colorado Gives Day. Use hashtag #igiveyv on Twitter or Instagram to enter.
The contest will run through Dec 6. The winning photo will be selected at the Gives Day Party at High Five on Dec 8. By entering the contest, participants agree to allow YVG to use photo entries for promotional purposes.
Bell ringers sought starting Friday, through December
Routt County United Way is seeking volunteers to be part of the timeless bell ringing tradition by greeting holiday shoppers and spreading Christmas cheer in front of Safeway and City Market.
The bell ringing will begin Friday, Nov. 27 and continue through Thursday, Dec. 24. Civic groups are encouraged to volunteer. Organizations are needed to take an 11 to 6 p.m. shift.

Registration now open for Steamboat Nordic Camp
Steamboat Nordic Camp organizers have Dec. 12 and 13 as the dates for their annual cross country ski camp. The event will be hosted by Lake Catamount Touring Center, Ski Haus and Steamboat Ski Touring Center.
In its 14th year of operation, the camp caters to cross country ski enthusiast of all levels. New skiers learning technique to seasoned skiers looking to get a jump on training for the season all benefit from this well organized, enthusiastic camp.
