Steamboat briefs: Wreath design class is at CMC on Wednesday

A wreath design class is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Colorado Mountain College’s Alpine Campus. Susanne, from Alpine Floral, will demonstrate how to create four wreaths: pinecone and pods, dried material, wine corks and fresh. The $15 class is the first in a three-part series. Girls Reaching out Wider sign-up through Monday

Registration for the city of Steamboat Springs’ Girls Reaching out Wider program is open through Monday on a first-come, first-served basis at http://www.steamboatsprings.net/teen.

The after-school program for sixth- to eighth-grade girls features education on the topics of health, resiliency, self-defense and leadership as well as outdoor adventures and arts and crafts projects.

The session runs Tuesdays from Nov. 5 to Dec. 17, and the cost is $100. Scholarships are available. Call Kate Warnke for more information at 970-871-7054.
