City's 1st-ever pet adoption event set for this weekend

Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties is teaming up with the Routt County Humane Society to participate in the first-ever Homes for Dogs National Pet Adoption Weekend from noon to 4 p.m. this weekend at the animal shelter in Steamboat Springs. This local event, which will include food, the Ask a Vet: tent and plenty of adoptable dogs and cats, is part of the Homes for Dogs Project, a national campaign hosted by and Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC.

"Dogs have and always will be such an integral part of our homes," said Karen Beauvais, a broker affiliated with Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties in Steamboat Springs. "From the moment they greet us at the front door, they are our constant companions. We are proud to be a part of this outstanding campaign."

"We know this nationwide event will help draw attention to the thousands of adoptable pets in need of homes and truly make an impact on the Steamboat Springs community," said Connie Harger, Shelter Director at Routt County Humane Society.
