Steamboat briefs: Steamboat Springs School Board to address budget
February 1, 2010
The Steamboat Springs School Board will hear a presentation tonight from Superintendent Shalee Cunningham and Finance Director Dale Mellor, regarding the Steamboat Springs School District's budget for the 2010-11 school year. District officials are projecting a need to cut about $2 million from that budget in anticipation of less state funding and fewer gifts from the Education Fund Board, which oversees the city's half-cent sales tax for education.
Tonight's School Board agenda also includes a presentation of the North Routt Community Charter School's 2008-09 audit from director Colleen Poole.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the district offices in the George P. Sauer Human Services Center on Seventh Street. The budget presentation is scheduled for 7:20 p.m.
