Steamboat briefs: Steamboat Ski Patrol sets hiring/skiing clinic
The Steamboat Ski Patrol is holding a hiring/skiing clinic Saturday. Participation will ensure consideration for the 2015-16 season. Ski Patrol clinic participants must be expert level skiers or telemarkers able to handle all terrain in any condition. Sorry, no snowboarders.
First Aid credentials are not required to participate in the hiring clinic but are required prior to employment. Applicants must be able to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis and periodically may need to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance.
Completion of the skier ability clinic does not ensure a position on Ski Patrol next season. The clinic will be limited to 30 participants.
Candidates must complete an application online at http://www.steamboat.com/jobs to register for the clinic. Contact Wes Richey at 970-871-5281 with questions.
Howelsen Nordic Center season is extended
The Howelsen Nordic Center will continue grooming Nordic trails through today.
All groomed Nordic Trails are approved for use by Nordic skiers, snowshoers and fat bikers only, and tickets or season passes are required.
Tickets can be purchased inside the Howelsen Lodge at the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club office, the vending machine in the fireplace room and at the concession stand that will be open limited hours.
