Steamboat Briefs: Steamboat school budget workshops set for today

The Steamboat Springs School District is hosting two community budget meetings today. There is no agenda for the meetings, which are scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Both will take place at the district’s central office at 325 Seventh St.

Finance Director Dale Mellor will give a brief presentation about the district’s operating budget. Mellor also will discuss the November ballot measures, Proposition 101 and Amendments 60 and 61, that could affect public school finance in Colorado if voters approve them. Members of the public are welcome and will be able to ask questions.

Over The Hill Gang to hold dinner Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Steamboat’s Over The Hill Gang will hold its May dinner/social at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Rex’s American Grill & Bar. Members, guests and prospective members are invited to attend.
