Steamboat briefs: Shakespeare group to read ‘Romeo and Juliet’

Steamboat Springs — Bud Werner Memorial Library hosts "Romeo and Juliet, Here and Now," a free Shakespeare reading group that runs Wednesdays from Feb. 3 to March 16. Led by English teacher Sally Frostic, this group is limited to 15 participants who want to enjoy the play again or for the first time. The workshop is designed to stimulate enjoyment and discussion and be attuned to group needs and interests. The library will loan copies of the book to participants. Free ski guide program for those 50 and older
Steamboat's Over The Hill Gang and Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. offer a free daily guide program to everyone 50 and older. Meet the uniformed guides in Gondola Square by the Chuckwagon across from the entrance to the gondola at 9 a.m. ready to ski; join them for lunch at 11:45 a.m. in the Thunderhead Food Court at the top of the gondola or on the snow at 12:30 p.m. near the bottom of the Thunderhead stairs.
Registration starts for Steamboat marathon
Registration is open for the 29th annual Steamboat Marathon, scheduled for June 6. The races accept about 1,000 runners in the half-marathon and 500 in the full marathon. There is no cap on the 10K race. Visit http://www.steamboatmarathon.com for information and to sign up.
