Steamboat briefs: Routt Country Riders to host bike presentation

Routt County Riders and the International Mountain Bicycling Association will present “Better Living Through Trails” at 5:30 p.m. Friday. The free presentation explores the positive relationships between communities and their trail systems and shows how mountain biking can improve a community, according to a news release. Vendor registration open for Redneck Olympics

Vendor reservations are being taken for the second annual Routt County Redneck Olympics on Saturday at the Routt County Fairgrounds in Hayden. Young at Art day camp registration now open



Registration is open for the following Steamboat Springs Arts Council’s Young at Art half-day summer camps:

■ Cinderella’s Tea Party dance camp for children ages 4 to 7 is from 9:30 a.m. to noon Monday to Friday.

■ Jungle Boogie dance camp for youths ages 8 to 12 is from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

■ Children’s Theater camp for youths ages 8 to 12 is from 9:30 a.m. to noon July 15 to 19 and July 22 to 26.

■ The Roots of Hip Hop camp for youths ages 8 to 12 is from 1 to 3:30 p.m. July 22 to 26.

■ Pet Projects camp for first- through third-graders is from 9:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 12 to 16.

The cost for half-day camps is $110 for Arts Council members or $130 for nonmembers. Register at http://www.steamboatspringsarts.com.

A full-day camp called the Wings Fine Arts Camp is for those in fourth grade and older from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 5 to 9. That camp is $299 and registration is available at http://www.steamboatbooktrails.org.

Boys & Girls club seeks donations for activities

The Boys & Girls Club of Northwest Colorado is seeking donations of the following items: a sturdy pingpong table, baseball/softball mitts for youths ages 6 to 13, XBOX 360 and Wii game systems with games, small Legos, a 30-inch or larger flat-screen TV and two patio tables with chairs and umbrellas. Donations can be made from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the club, 325 Seventh St., or by calling 970-871-3160.
