Steamboat briefs: Online voting ends Monday for SSWSC board positions
The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club has two elected positions open on its board of directors. These positions are three-year terms and are open to anyone. Interested candidates should call the Winter Sports Club office at 970-879-0695, ext. 100. Voting closes at 3 p.m. Monday.
Community Ag members meeting is Wednesday
The 2014 annual meeting of members of the Community Agriculture Alliance will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The meeting is open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to bring a potluck dish made from something they raised, grew or produced. Tableware and family-friendly drinks will be provided.
Election of officers and appointment of directors and advisers will be done as part of the meeting.
Director and advisory board positions are available and open to anyone. Interested candidates should email Executive Director Marsha Daughenbaugh for details at email@example.com. Candidate applications must be received by the Ag Alliance no later than 5 p.m. Monday.
Learn about development guidelines Wednesday
Join First Impressions and a panel of local experts to learn about the Colorado Early Learning and Development guidelines and website, http://www.earlylearningco.org.
The event is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the North Routt Community Charter School and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Oak Creek Library.
Parents will receive a copy of the guidelines and have your questions answered by a local early childhood expert, health professional and early intervention specialist.
Pizza and child care will be provided. Parents should drop of children at 5:45 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $5 per person or $10 per family to help offset costs for food and child care.

Civil Air Patrol Cadet program taking applications
Civil Air Patrol Cadet program now is accepting membership applications from boys and girls ages 12 to 18.
The program focuses on aviation, aerospace technology, leadership, fitness and character, and it meets Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Steamboat Springs Airport.
Those who join this winter may be eligible to participate in the Colorado Wing encampment held at the United States Air Force Academy Prep School in June.
