Steamboat briefs: Newspaper’s website to undergo maintenance Monday

The Steamboat Pilot & Today’s website will be undergoing scheduled maintenance beginning at 9 p.m. Monday and continuing through early Tuesday morning. As a result, SteamboatToday.com and ExploreSteamboat.com will be down for significant portions of that time. The maintenance is necessary to keep the newspaper’s websites functioning optimally.

Advisory committee now seeking two new members

The CSU Extension Advisory Committee of Routt County is seeking two new members for three-year terms. The advisory committee gives direction and advice to the Routt County Board of County Commissioners and Extension staff. The committee meets as many as four times per year to set priorities and goals and review Extension performance. Kindergarten registration runs through Thursday

The Steamboat Springs School District is registering kindergarten and new first-grade students this week. Registration will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Soda Creek and Strawberry Park elementary schools. All registrations will occur at the school in which the student is zoned to attend.



Annual Wounded Warrior event set for March 21

Rocky Mountain Rentals at the Steamboat Lake Marina will host its sixth annual Wounded Warrior event March 21. A community snowmobile ride will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. followed by a community potluck from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the North Routt County Charter School. Those who want to participate in the snowmobile ride should meet at the Rocky Mountain Rentals. Those who plan to attend the potluck dinner are asked to bring a dish to share.

Governor appoints area resident to state board

Keith Branstetter of Hayden has been appointed to the State Board of Water Well Construction and Pump Installation Contractors by Gov. John Hickenlooper. The board has general supervision and authority over installation of pumps and pumping equipment and the construction and abandonment of water wells statewide. It also licenses and regulates persons and firms engaged in water well construction and pump installation contracting businesses. Branstetter will serve as a well construction contractor.
