The Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs has selected Jordan "Jordi" Floyd as Rotary Student of the Month for March.

The Steamboat Springs High School senior is described as outgoing, responsible, talkative, friendly and confident.

"I have recommended her to you, because besides being one of the kindest young ladies I have met, she is a stellar student, a standout two-sport athlete and overall great young lady with strong values," wrote Danica Moss, Steamboat Springs High School counselor, in a nomination letter.

During the summers, Floyd works with Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports. She began as a volunteer junior mentor and was then selected for a paid position as a junior counselor. Now, Floyd has been promoted to lead counselor.

"Working with STARS has changed the way I view others and has made me consider a career in this field," Floyd said.

Last year, only 29 percent of eligible residents took advantage of the online renewal option. Individuals are encouraged to renew online for their convenience.

Colorado unveiled the new driver's license and identification card at three pilot offices in March. All driver license offices across the state are issuing the new design.
