Steamboat briefs: High school co-ed league registration ends Wednesday

Wednesday is the registration deadline for the city of Steamboat Springs Parks, Open Space and Recreational Services Department's high school co-ed recreational volleyball league. The program, called Spiked, is for high school kids only and plays on Tuesday evenings from June 18 to July 16 at the Howelsen Beach courts. League champions will receive T-shirts, and tournament champions will receive Chamber Bucks. The league is a five-vs.-five format, and teams will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Financial statement help set for June 20 at CMC

A workshop on understanding financial statements is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. June 20 in Room 127 of the Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center at Colorado Mountain College.

The course covers the following topics: how financial statements serve your needs, elementary rules of accounting that guide financial statement creation, income and profit loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, measuring your success using financial statements, and defining and tracking critical success factors.
