Steamboat briefs: Free social media marketing workshop slated for Monday

The Steamboat Workforce Center, in partnership with Colorado Mountain College, is sponsoring a free workshop on social media.

The workshop will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Colorado Mountain College.

Kids Night Out at the Igloo is from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday

The city of Steamboat is hosting Kids Night Out from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Igloo at Howelsen Hill. The event is open to kids in kindergarten through fifth grades. The movie “Ribbit” will be shown, and a dinner of grilled cheese and chicken soup will be served. The cost is $15 in advance and $20 for drop-ins if space is available. Art museum to host tours at 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays

The Steamboat Art Museum will conduct docent-led tours at 2:30 p.m. every Wednesday. Tours will focus on the two exhibits currently featured in the museum — Mark Thompson Retrospective and Exquisite Miniatures by Wes and Rachelle Siegrist.  Tours are free and open to the public. Call 970-870-1755 for more information. 



VNA offers options to help you quit using tobacco

The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association has multiple options available to help smokers and smokeless tobacco users address complex factors of nicotine addiction that make quitting very difficult.

Smoking cigarettes or using chew, snuff and other types of smokeless tobacco can have serious, potentially fatal, health consequences. Tobacco cessation support significantly can improve a person’s chances of quitting for good.

VNA offers one-on-one counseling with a tobacco cessation counselor and a tobacco-free support group. Call 970-871-7338 for information. All services offered by the VNA are free and available in English and Spanish.
