CMC class distributes wage and benefit survey

A human resource management class at Colorado Mountain College is conducting a comprehensive wage and benefit survey for local employers.

“We all know that employers in the Yampa Valley are challenged to attract and retain quality employees in our extremely tight labor market,” said Darcy Trask, human resources instructor. “What we don’t always know is how to continue to meet this challenge with energy, excitement and improved success.”

Businesses and organizations are encouraged to participate in the survey. Invitations to participate will be sent out this week to members of the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association. Nonmembers can call Trask at 846-1663 to request an invitation.

The goal of the survey is to produce a timely and comprehensive report of salary and benefit data for local employers to use to help meet the challenge of finding and keeping quality employees. Similar surveys typically cost employers $50 to $200 for the opportunity to participate in and receive the results of the survey.

The CMC survey will be free to employers, but the summary data will be available only to those who participate.
