Today’s golf tournament benefits local education
Steamboat Springs — The annual YES golf tournament tees off today at Rollingstone Ranch Golf Course, to benefit Routt County high school students and programs. Registration for the tournament takes place at 10:30 a.m., and play begins at 12:15 p.m. Individuals and teams still can register for the four-person, scramble tournament by calling Barbara Robinson at 879-2250. The cost is $135 a person. The tournament includes hole-in-one prizes of $5,000 on one hole and a new car on another hole.
Literary Sojourn tickets on sale for Sept. 27 event
The 2008 Literary Sojourn is scheduled for Sept. 27 at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort Hotel. Steamboat’s 16th annual festival of readers and authors features Karen Joy Fowler, Andrew Sean Greer, Nathaniel Philbrick, Elizabeth Strout and Manil Suri, with master of ceremonies Erin McKean. Tickets are on sale at the Bud Werner Memorial Library, or by printing and mailing the online registration form. Judges needed for annual Mustang Roundup
Volunteers are needed to judge entries in the 20th annual Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup, including more than 400 classic Mustang cars, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Lincoln Avenue. No experience is necessary. Call Kristi at 875-7006 or visit the Visitors Center at 1255 S. Lincoln Ave. to sign up.
