Adult hockey registration extended through today

Registration for the city of Steamboat Springs’ Summer Adult Hockey League has been extended through today. Sign up at from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Howelsen Ice Arena on Howelsen Parkway. Call 879-4300 for more information.

Fishing derby, pancake breakfast Saturday



The Steamboat Springs Optimist and Rotary clubs host their 26th annual Optimist/Rotary Fishing Derby and Pancake Breakfast beginning at 8 a.m. at Walton Pond. The derby begins at 9 a.m., with judging at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome and prizes for first fish, biggest fish, best Huck Finn/Becky Thatcher costume and more will be awarded. Volunteers sought for Perry Mansfield project



Volunteers are needed for the Perry-Mansfield Archive Collection project, which will continue through the summer. Training workshops required for participation are from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Lunch is provided at the workshops. Call Sophie at 879-1725.

YVCF to hold free grant training for nonprofits

The Yampa Valley Community Foundation, with JVA Consulting, is offering “What You Need to Know about the New Colorado Common Grant Application: A Training on the Changes and Additions,” from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Centennial Hall. Call 879-8632.
