Steamboat briefs: Bookmark-a-thon is Monday at the library
Bud Werner Memorial Library is hosting a Bookmark-a-thon all day Monday in the teen section of the library as part of the Students Rebuild Literacy Challenge, a global effort to help children in Latin America, Asia and Africa become successful life-long readers and learners.
People are invited to drop in and create a bookmark. The Bezos Family Foundation will donate $2 — up to $300,000 — to help children in disadvantaged and underserved communities around the world.

Program to hold 13-week Nurturing Fathers Workshop
The Fatherhood Program of Routt County is offering a free 13-week class for dads. The class will meets from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays beginning Jan. 29 at Soda Creek Elementary School.
Nurturing Fathers is an evidence-based curriculum designed to support dads to be the best they can be for their children and themselves. Topics include: The Roots of Fathering; Nurturing Ourselves/Our Children; Fathering Sons/Fathering Daughters; Discipline Without Violence; Playing with Children; Managing Anger/Resolving Conflict; Teamwork with Spouse/Partner; Balancing Work and Fathering; Communication and Problem Solving; and Dealing with Feelings.

Hot Springs Triathlon Club to start training in May
Training begins May 4 for the Old Town Hot Springs Triathlon Club. The training will end Aug. 30.
Get in shape and prepare for the summer triathlon season with the club. Train with professional coaches, and competing in triathlons are optional. Athletes 15 and older of all fitness levels are welcome.

2nd annual Beginners Ice Fishing Clinic is Feb. 7
Yampatika and Colorado Parks and Wildlife are partnering to for the second annual Beginners Ice Fishing Clinic, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Stagecoach State Park.
This is a free event for all ages, though youths younger than 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants must dress appropriately for existing weather conditions.
The Young Professionals Network needs members
The Young Professionals Network is looking for additional members. The group focuses on networking, professional development, volunteer opportunities and social events. An annual membership is $45.
