Newspapers in Education program slots available

There are enough remaining spots for 10 fourth- through sixth-grade teachers to sign their classes up for the Steamboat Pilot & Today's Newspapers in Education program.

The program is available to all Routt County schools. Teachers are provided free newspapers for 18 weeks for their classrooms. The papers include a teacher's guide that includes activities and lessons for students that supplement the serial story, which unfolds each week.

The goal of the program is to keep students involved in reading, Pilot Circulation Director Steve Balgenorth said.

To participate in the program, e-mail Balgenorth at sbalgenorth@steamboatpilot.com. The deadline to sign up is Jan. 15. The program starts Jan. 17.
