Steamboat boys lacrosse lands 9 on all-conference, all-state teams

Members of the Steamboat Springs boys lacrosse team celebrate a game-tying goal as time expired in regulation of a Class 4A first-round state playoff game. Davis Petersen, 8, scored that one, plus the one before it. Kieran Hahn, right, then scored in overtime to give the Sailors the 13-12 win.

The Steamboat Springs High School boys lacrosse team had four athletes named to all-state teams this spring, plus nine players on all-conference lists.

Senior Davis Petersen earned a spot on both lists, as a first-team selection for the conference and second-team all conference. Petersen finished his season with 49 goals and 14 assists, both tops on the team. (Tallak Myhre also racked up 14 assists.)
Kieran Hahn, a junior, earned a spot on the conference first team, then was an all-state honorable mention pick after his 22-goal season. Seniors Sam Frackowiak, stout on defense, and Bridger Boyd, a long stick middie, both doubled up, as well, as first-team all conference and all-state honorable mention selections.

Senior Grant McNamara was a first-team conference selection, Zach Miller, also a senior, was second-team all conference and juniors Jackson Lynch, Frank Becker and Jacob Gilbertson were tabbed for all-conference honorable mention honors.

The Sailors finished 12-5 this season, second in the league. They advanced to the second round of the state playoffs.
