— The Steamboat Springs Police Department is looking for the people who burglarized a bike shop Sunday night.

Three bikes and accessories with a value of more than $20,000 were stolen from Orange Peel Bicycle Service at 1136 Yampa St. The bikes were built and on display in the store.

“It’s a big hit for sure,” Orange Peel owner Brock Webster said.

The thefts occurred at about 10:45 p.m. An officer was nearby and heard an alarm going off at the business.

Webster said the thieves used a sledgehammer to knock down a door and then they made their way through another door.

“They got everything in a short period of time,” Webster said.

Webster said he was still doing inventory to determine what all had been stolen.

Routt County Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 reward for useful information about the thefts.

People can call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 970-870-6226. A text message can also be sent to Crime Stoppers by texting “NABM” followed by the tip to 274637 (CRIMES). A text message will be sent confirming the message has been received.

The stolen bikes are:

— A medium-sized, matte black Pivot Firebird mountain bike with blue stenciling. It has XO Eagle components that are new to the market.

— A small, orange Pivot March 6 X01 mountain bike with a seat dropper.

— A 54-centimeter BMC Teammachine Slr02 Ultegra road bike that is white with red handlebar tape.
