STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Steamboat Springs High School senior basketball player Mac Riniker continues to collect accolades after his final season on the court for the Sailors.

In addition to being named Western Slope League Player of the Year, Riniker received first-team all-state honors. Only five athletes in Class 4A were given this honor, five were also named to the second team all-state roster.

The last time Sailors basketball named players to the all-state list was in the 2007-08 season when Michael Vandahl and Aaron Calkins received second team all-state honors.

Riniker concluded his career with the Sailors scoring 1,129 points. He averaged 18.1 points per game shooting 73 percent from the field during his senior year.

Riniker will participate in the All-state games at Adams State University June 6 to 8.
