Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club athlete Jeremy Nolting notched an impressive performance at the 10-day FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships event in Tarvisio, Italy.

Ending on Thursday, the FIS event saw 300 athletes competing in downhill, super-G, giant slalom and slalom events featuring each nation’s best junior athletes ages 16-20. Eight men and eight women qualified to race for the USA.

Nolting qualified and placed in the top-20 in all four disciplines — the only skier in the field to do so.

He placed 14th in the downhill on Feb. 27 and 18th in the super-G on March 1. In the giant slalom race, Nolting placed eighth on March 4 and recorded a 12th-place finish in the March 6 slalom event.

“No other skier was in the top 20 in all four disciplines. In fact, no other skier was in the top 15 in three of the disciplines,” stated a news release from SSWSC. “Nolting’s individual performances are uniquely impressive over the entire event and difficult to achieve because he skis and trains in all four disciplines compared to his competition, many of whom specialize in just a few disciplines.”

In the women’s super-G race, SSWSC skier Logan Grosdidier finished 19th and, along with with U.S. Ski Team teammate Kjersti Moritz, placed seventh overall in the team combined super-G and slalom race.

“Her standout race was the giant slalom on March 3, where she was the top U18 woman and had the fastest second run time, moving up from 30th after the first run to 7th overall. Grosdidier’s 7th place finish in giant slalom was the best finish for a 16-year-old at the World Juniors since Lara Colturi in 2023,” the press release added.

Tatum Grosdidier, a SSWSC alum and member of the U.S. Ski Team and the University of Utah Ski Team, notched two top-20 finishes in the giant slalom and slalom events.

Grosdidier’s and Nolting’s top-10 finishes helped propel the U.S. team to a fourth-place finish among all nations competing in the event.
