STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Steamboat Springs Animal Control needs the community’s help finding a stray dog.

Dispatch has received a large number of calls over the last several weeks regarding a stray dog running around the Anglers Drive/Steamboat Boulevard area. The dog does not appear to have an owner.

Animal Control is concerned for the dog’s safety and welfare and would like to locate it. The dog is described as medium to large, black with some white on chest and belly and could be a possible Lab or border collie mix.

Information on where the dog might be eating or bedding down for the night would be very helpful. To catch the dog, Animal Control can set live traps but officers need help tracking the animal’s movements.

Anyone with information about the dog is asked to call Animal Control at 970-879-1144.
