STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Nordic combined skiers dominated their final Junior National Qualifier of the 2019 season in Park City, Utah.

The SSWSC U16 men swept the podium in special jumping. Niklas Malacinski was on top in first place, Erik Belshaw claimed second and Gunnar Gilbertson took third. Jason Colby, Koen Stroock and Thomas Miller came in fifth, sixth and seventh place, respectively.

SSWSC’s Tess Arnone was the only podium finisher in special jumping for the girls U16 age group, taking third place overall. Alexa Brabec, Aspen Bennett-Manke and Ella Stroock finished in fifth, sixth and seventh place, respectively. Tinsley Wilkinson was ninth.

SSWSC’s Annika Belshaw won the U18 women’s special jumping.

The boys also swept the competition in Nordic combined. Malacinski came in first while Gilbertson and Belshaw followed in second and third, respectively. Miller placed fifth overall.

Arnone grabbed gold in the women’s Nordic combined competition with teammates Brabec and Wilkinson in second and third place, respectively. Stroock finished in fourth.

The 2019 Junior Championship Team will be announced during the Ski Jumping Exhibition on Friday at the Winter Carnival.
