The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Moguls Team, known as “TeamSteam”, traveled to Copper Mountain last week for the Summit Open on Treble Cliff.

SSWSC’s Mia Satkiewicz took back-to-back singles events by over six points on Saturday and three on Sunday. Her risks on high-level runs paid off and she managed the fastest times and highest air scores of the weekend.

“I had so much fun skiing. I skied because I love it, not just to get results.” Satkiewicz said in a news release. “I tried to push myself to go faster, ski my best, and feel satisfied with all the hard work I have been putting in. It was my first win in singles, which was my goal for the season.”

SSWSC’s Jack Perkins also navigated the bumps well with blazing fast paces to finish second overall on Sunday, his best finish of the year. Perkins was credited with the best performance across U19 athletes.

With this weekend off, TeamSteam will travel to Telluride twice in the next three weeks for the Southwest Freestyle Classic from Feb. 22-23 as well as the Rocky Mountain Freestyle Divisional Championships from March 8-9.
